The man with the Midas touch has released a teaser trailer for his new movie, Interstellar, starring Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Anne Hathaway, and, of course, Michael Caine. In true Christopher Nolan tradition, the trailer reveals very little, using stock footage for the most part with just a clip of the lead actor driving away with a dark expression on his face. Still, the final shot of a father and son, presumably, watching a spacecraft take off is enough to get legions of fans swooning.
The official synopsis for Interstellar goes as such: “In the future, governments and economies across the globe have collapsed, food is scarce, NASA is no more, and the 20th Century is to blame. A mysterious rip in spacetime opens and it’s up to whatever is left of NASA to explore and offer up hope for mankind.”
Mainly based on the scientific theories and script treatment of renowned theoretical physicist, Kip Thorne. Interstellar is set to be released in late 2014.
